Response

Stretch Fabric Acoustical Wall System is used for auditorium side wall treatment to improve sound absorption, reduce echo, and provide a smooth decorative fabric finish. The system includes GI stud framework, mineral wool insulation, galvanized wire mesh, non-woven fabric, 12 mm HDHMR support strips, 12 mm vinyl tracks, and final stretch fabric covering.

The acoustically transparent fabric allows sound to pass through and get absorbed by the insulation behind it, improving sound clarity and reducing noise levels. The system provides NRC performance up to 1.00, thermal insulation, moisture resistance, and a seamless premium wall finish as per approved architectural drawings and EIC instructions.

Product Specifications

Stretch Fabric Acoustical Wall System

Product Overview

Stretch Fabric Acoustical Wall System is used for auditorium side wall treatment where acoustic absorption, smooth fabric finish, thermal insulation, and premium interior appearance are required.

The system uses a GI stud framework with mineral wool insulation, wire mesh, non-woven fabric, HDHMR support strips, vinyl tracks, and final stretch fabric finish. The fabric works as an acoustically transparent layer, allowing sound waves to pass through and get absorbed by the insulation behind it.

This system helps improve sound clarity, reduce noise, control reflections, and provide a seamless decorative wall finish.

Purpose

The purpose of this wall system is to improve auditorium acoustics while providing a clean and elegant fabric wall finish.

It helps in:

  • Reducing echo and reverberation
  • Absorbing mid-to-high frequency sound
  • Improving speech and music clarity
  • Supporting low-frequency absorption with calculated air gap
  • Providing thermal insulation
  • Creating a smooth and seamless wall appearance

Installation Layer / Actual Process

1. Base Wall / Structural Surface

The work starts from the existing wall surface. Wall levels, panel layout, track lines, and fabric design pattern are marked as per approved architectural drawings and EIC instructions.

2. GI Stud Framework

Lightweight GI stud channels are fixed to create the support framework.

  • GI stud channel: 50 mm x 0.5 mm
  • Stud spacing: 450 mm c/c

3. Mineral Wool Insulation

Mineral Wool RB Slabs are placed inside the framework to improve acoustic absorption.

  • Size: 1000 mm x 500 mm
  • Thickness: 50 mm
  • Density: 48 kg/m³

4. Wire Mesh & Non-Woven Fabric

Galvanized hexagonal wire mesh is fixed to secure the insulation. Plain spun bond non-woven fabric is applied over it for air filtration and protection.

5. HDHMR Support Strips

Customized 12 mm High-Density High-Moisture Resistant board strips are fixed over the GI frame to provide strength and support for vinyl track fixing.

6. Vinyl Track Fixing

12 mm vinyl tracks are screw-fixed onto the HDHMR strips to hold and stretch the fabric properly.

7. Stretch Fabric Installation

The selected stretch fabric is stretched and secured into the vinyl tracks to achieve a smooth, seamless, and neat final finish.
