Product Specifications

Designer 9 mm Textured Polyester Fiber Acoustic Panel System

Product Overview

Designer 9 mm Textured Polyester Fiber Acoustic Panel System is used for auditorium wall and ceiling treatment where acoustic performance, thermal insulation, moisture resistance, and decorative interior finish are required.

The system uses 9 mm thick textured fibrous 100% polyester fiber panels installed over HDHMR board or termite-resistant plywood/MDF backing. The panels are fixed on a GI stud framework with mineral wool insulation, wire mesh, non-woven fabric, black fleece backing, and calculated air gap to improve sound absorption and reduce unwanted reflections.

This system provides a clean designer finish while improving sound clarity and acoustic comfort inside auditoriums and interior spaces.

Purpose

The purpose of this system is to improve acoustic performance and provide a visually appealing wall or ceiling finish.

It helps in:

  • Reducing echo and reverberation
  • Improving speech and sound clarity
  • Absorbing sound through polyester fiber panel and insulation backing
  • Supporting low-frequency absorption through calculated air gap
  • Providing thermal insulation
  • Creating a decorative textured acoustic finish

Installation Layer / Actual Process

1. Base Wall / Ceiling Surface

The work starts from the existing wall or ceiling surface. Panel layout, levels, grid lines, and design pattern are marked as per approved architectural drawings and EIC instructions.

2. GI Stud Framework

GI top and bottom tracks are aligned and fixed. GI stud channels are installed to form the support framework.

  • GI stud channel: 50 mm x 0.5 mm
  • Stud spacing: 450 mm c/c

3. Mineral Wool Insulation

Mineral Wool RB Slabs are inserted within the framework to improve sound absorption and insulation.

  • Size: 1000 mm x 500 mm
  • Thickness: 50 mm
  • Density: 48 kg/m³

4. Wire Mesh & Non-Woven Fabric

Galvanized hexagonal wire mesh is fixed to hold the insulation securely. Plain spun bond non-woven fabric is applied over it for air filtration and protection.

5. Air Gap & Acoustic Backing

A calculated air gap is maintained behind the acoustic panel system to improve low-frequency absorption and reduce vibration transfer. Black fleece backing helps trap sound waves passing through the panel surface.

6. Backing Board Fixing

HDHMR board or termite-resistant plywood/MDF backing is fixed over the framework to provide strength, stability, and support for the polyester panel finish.

7. Polyester Fiber Panel Fixing

9 mm thick textured fibrous 100% polyester fiber panels are installed over the backing board as per approved design and visual representation.

8. Final Finish & Protection

Panels are aligned properly and finished with approved protective coating where required to protect against moisture, dust, and dirt.
